FINE ART - MIXED MEDIA

CONCEPT

For me, photography should be a tactile experience. Photographs should not molder on hard drives or ricochet through the social media universe; photographs should be experienced in the physical realm. Unfortunately, in this age of Instagram likes and Pinterest pins images don’t often get printed. There is no need. You’ve seen the image, you move on.

As I realized optical printing was a thing of the past, I reluctantly moved away from analog photography two decades ago. By applying mixed media mentality with outsider art influences, I have been able to recapture the feeling of creating work that does more than glow from a screen. This work resides in the physical.

With my mixed media work, I often use process which are little known outside certain circles. I use materials that are in need of a second chance. I break rules. All in support of creating a work of art.
